Fortunately, I was able to get the extended warranty honored by the company I had separately bought it from. When the oven needed service several years later, and called this highly regarded local store the number was disconnected: they had gone out of business and I was on my own. I happened to buy my expensive Electrolux double oven from a highly regarded local appliance store with a large repair department that had been in business for over 40 years I also bought an extended warranty. The level of warranty service is likely a function of where you live rather than who you bought it from. I buy stuff like this based on best price. I wouldn't think twice about buying a name brand appliance from a big box store. i have no idea the relationship between a warranty company and a dealer. my other local dealer said they arent even selling warranties now as they are looking for a new company. but theres no way they are gonna do warranty work for something i buy at best buy i'm sure. i guess i'm a customer since i spent 3K on a water softner, which is good. even though i was told "we only are seeing our own customers presently" because they are busy. the current oven 'works but sometimes never gets above 300, so you have to literally babysit it.Īlso i got a new water softener at my local dealer and even though i didnt get the bosch from there, they did come out. The bosch for 400 more has a time and temp display that i like i watched a video. so i dont wanna pay 500 for an oven i dont like. theres NO temp display and the timer is on a sub menu that you cannot see unless you press a button. they want $500 to replace the control panel (temps swing wildly now) and i hate my current bosch. i needed something quick and that was available and fit. The now 4 year old bosch wall oven was bought to replace a 50 yr old tappan that died.
